Hello, my name is
Adrian K. Wiethoff...

…founder of the ARS PEDIS private medical practice in Düsseldorf.
I am a multi-certified foot surgeon with specialized training in plastic and aesthetic surgery – a combination that is almost unique in Germany. In addition to my training in plastic surgery, I have focused intensively on foot surgery, for which I have certification from both leading German professional societies, the German Association for Foot Surgery (D.A.F.) and the Society for Foot and Ankle Surgery (GFFC).
This combination of expertise in plastic-aesthetic and foot surgery is a central part of my work and makes the ARS PEDIS private medical practice an important place to turn for patients with specific needs.

My path before now

Born in 1972, I grew up in Düsseldorf and Neuss. I am married and live with my wife and our two daughters in the Neuss district.

In the course of my specialist training…

…I gained in-depth knowledge in plastic and reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, and aesthetic and burn surgery. Additionally, I spent a year working in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine, which comprehensively and holistically complemented my medical training.
During this time, I also assisted with and performed numerous forefoot surgeries, including procedures for bunions and hammertoes. These early experiences prompted me to question why such surgeries are often performed only when significant discomfort and deformities are present.

...I asked myself...

Why do many patients wait until their toes are so deformed that they cause pain and affect their lifestyle?
Why can’t we intervene sooner to improve both the function and aesthetic appearance of the feet? Why not operate before the change is so severe, but there’s still a feeling that your feet no longer match your expectations?

... why don't all foot surgeons consider
not only function but also aesthetics?

I recognized this unmet need and decided to dedicate myself specifically to foot surgery. In 2009, I founded the ARS PEDIS practice, which was the first practice in Germany to offer a combination of aesthetic and reconstructive foot surgery. The goal was to create a treatment option that not only addresses functional problems of the foot but also takes aesthetics into account. This is how the practice came into being, with its own operating room, allowing me to respond individually to the wishes and needs of my patients.

That’s how I found my specialty ...

I have made it my mission to combine the high standards of foot surgery and plastic surgery. I especially value fine incisions and deliberately unobtrusive scar placement. My many years of experience and expertise enable me to not only alleviate painful symptoms when treating deformities, but also to achieve the most aesthetically pleasing result possible.

... and now help people
to feel good again about their feet.

For me, the patient is the focus of treatment. Every patient is unique, and every foot has its own requirements. I take the time to listen and understand my patients’ individual wishes and complaints.

Whether it’s correcting previous foot operations, toes that are crooked, too long, or too short, or simply the desire to feel good on your own feet again – I always strive to find a solution that is both functionally and aesthetically satisfying.

It is important to me that my patients are not only able to move better again after treatment, but also that they feel comfortable with their feet again. The trust they place in me is essential for successful treatment, and I work with dedication to ensure that in the end, they not only experience functional improvements but also feel that there has been a positive change in their outward appearance.
